House system
Four houses, named after four rivers, and one very old rivalry.

Every student and every member of staff belongs to a house from their first day. Houses cut across year groups deliberately — it is the only structure in the school where a Class 2 child and a Class 10 student are on the same side.
What houses actually do
The inter-house championship runs across sport, debate, music, drama and a quiz, with points accumulated all year and settled on the Sports Day relay. House captains are elected by the house, not appointed by staff.
Vertical tutor groups
House assemblies mix year groups, which means a Class 6 student regularly sits next to a Class 10 student. It is the mechanism behind most of the peer mentoring that happens without anyone organising it.
The Kaveri relay
Kaveri house has not won the senior 4×100m relay since 2020. This is documented here at their specific and repeated request.
