Child Protection Policy

The welfare of the child is the paramount consideration, above the reputation of the school and above the convenience of any adult in it.

Every adult on campus is police-verified, re-verified every three years, and no adult works unsupervised with children before verification clears.

Any concern — from a child, a parent, or a member of staff — is logged the same day in a register the designated safeguarding lead reviews daily.

You do not need an appointment, a form, or a reason that sounds serious enough. Call the office and ask for the safeguarding lead.

The campus safeguarding lead assesses within 48 hours and decides whether it is a welfare matter, a discipline matter, or both.

Where a child has harmed another child, both sets of parents are contacted. The response follows a published escalation scale rather than individual discretion.

Where there is reason to believe a child is at risk of significant harm, we contact the statutory authorities. We do not wait for internal certainty first.

Corridors, gates, grounds, laboratories and buses are monitored by camera. Toilets, changing rooms and counselling rooms are not, and will not be, regardless of what any incident might appear to justify.
