How we hire
Four stages, and one of them is unusual
You teach an actual class, and two students from that year group write down what they thought. Their notes have changed outcomes more than once.
Application
CV and a short covering note. No standard form and no essay question.
Conversation
Forty-five minutes with the department head. More about how you think than what you know.
Teaching a real lesson
You teach an actual class, observed by the department head and two students from that year group. The students write down what they thought.
Decision
Within five working days, with feedback either way. The students' notes are part of it.
What it is like to work here
Classes are capped at 24. Planning time is inside the working day rather than at midnight. When a teacher asks for something for their classroom, they get an answer within a week — either a yes, or a real reason why not.
In exchange we expect a great deal. Form tutors hold weekly one-to-one tutorials. Every teacher contributes to one co-curricular programme. And if a child’s work drops, you are expected to contact their parents within a fortnight rather than waiting for the report card.
Speculative applications
We read every one. If you are a good teacher and there is no advertised role, write anyway to careers@sikshainternational.edu.in — we have created posts for people before.
Get in touch
Come and see the school first
We would rather you visited before applying. It is a lot easier to write an honest covering letter once you have stood in the building.
