A student team's eighteen-month record of borewell nitrate levels around Nanakramguda made the city pages on 3 December.

A team of Class 7 students has been sampling nitrate levels in eleven borewells around Nanakramguda every fortnight since June 2024. Their dataset — now the longest continuous record of its kind for the area — was written up in the Deccan Chronicle city pages on 3 December.
The project began as an Eco Club exercise in reading a water testing kit. It became something else when the students noticed a consistent post-monsoon spike in three of the wells and decided the pattern was worth following.
The students have shared their raw data with the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation's water quality cell. We have no idea whether anything will come of that, and we told them so. They decided to send it anyway.
