Class 8

A decision year. At the end of Class 8 students choose between the CBSE and Cambridge pathways, and pick the subject combination they will carry into the board years. Counselling for that choice starts in the first term, not the last.

  • Solves multi-step algebraic problems and models them graphically
  • Writes a Python program using functions, loops and conditionals
  • Makes an informed, counselled choice of board pathway

  • The Class 8 Investigation — a term-long independent research project
  • Build a device that solves a real problem for someone on campus
  • Model United Nations, with position papers on an assigned country

Assessment

Two term examinations, unit tests, and project work weighted at 30%. Reports carry percentages from Class 8 onward, alongside a written comment and a target from each teacher.
