Is it right for your child?
Who this pathway suits — and who it does not
Both lists are here on purpose. A school that only publishes the case in favour leaves families to discover the mismatch after they have enrolled.
A good fit for
- Families who may relocate within India — the syllabus transfers cleanly between CBSE schools
- Students likely to sit JEE, NEET or other national entrance examinations, which are built on the CBSE syllabus
- Families who want a nationally recognised certificate with no ambiguity about equivalence
Probably not the right fit
- Families planning to move abroad mid-schooling — Cambridge transfers more easily internationally
- Students who thrive on extended coursework rather than examinations, which CBSE weights less heavily
Structure
How the pathway runs, stage by stage
Roughly four in five families choose this pathway. It is available at all four campuses.
Nursery to Class 2
Foundational literacy and numeracy. No formal examinations.
Classes 3 to 5
Two term examinations reported as grades. Science separates from EVS in Class 5.
Classes 6 to 8
Specialist subject teaching, internal assessments and project work at 30%.
Classes 9 and 10
Board syllabus, three pre-boards, and the prescribed internal assessment components.
Language of instruction
English medium, with Telugu, Hindi, Sanskrit or French as second language from Class 6.
The board examination
The Class 10 board examination is conducted by CBSE. We enter students for Mathematics Standard or Basic based on a decision made with the teacher during Class 9.
Switching pathways
Families can move between pathways up to the end of Class 8. After that the syllabuses have diverged enough that a switch disadvantages the student, so we will discuss it but will usually advise against it. There is no fee for switching.
